Becoming an Officer
To become an officer of the Paleto Bay Police Department you must complete the following steps below.
- First fill out an application on the "Application" page.
- Wait for confirmation that you have been accepted into the Police Academy.
- Cadets will take multiple courses through out the Academy (See Below)
- After the cadet graduates from academy will receive a certificate and be placed on station duty
- While on station duty, the cadet will perform dispatch & go on ride-alongs with patrol officers.
- When the cadet has gone through the required task check list, they will be promoted to an Officer.
The Police Academy
The Police Academy is a list of courses cadets must past in order to progress in becoming a police officer. The Academy provides training for the following weapons; flare gun, Pistol, Shotgun, Carbine Rifle, & Sniper Rifle. Along with firearm training, cadets will run through an obstacle course, getting more strenuous for each rank promotion. Cadets must complete the course under a certain time to pass. After the firearm training and obstacle course, the cadet must complete a driving course. Followed by the driving course the cadet must then perform the situational awareness course they will have graduated the Police Academy.

Obstacle Course
The obstacle course is to improve your stamina and prove to your superiors that you have it in general. The qualifying time is 2:05:00. No exceptions.

Firearm Course
The firearm training course is meant to train the cadets to be a sharper shooter than any civilian they encounter. There are 5 Main weapons the Department uses such as; Flare Gun (taser) Pistol, Pump Shotgun, Carbine Rifle, and Sniper Rifle. Each weapon has its own specific training course and score that is required to pass.
Driving Course
The Driving course is for the cadets to learn to drive in an aggressive manner while maintaining the integrity of their patrol car. There are 2 driving course the cadets must take. Course 1 is the basic driving, with tight turns and slippery surface, while Course 2 is much more intense.
